Snowy Owl
The Inspiration
"Canada Wild" began as an art series focused on urban wildlife in and around Vancouver, BC, captured through my camera’s lens. Over time, the project expanded to include diverse creatures that inhabit not just our backyards, but many of the natural spaces we humans adventure into. Through a bold, graphic black and white style, these animal portraits honour the power of Canada's extraordinary wildlife, while encouraging viewers to delve a little deeper into the complicated connections that bind us to the natural world.
This image is a tribute to Blizzard, the male Snowy Owl who has lived in the wildlife sanctuary at Grouse Mountain since 2014. Fun fact, the magnificent Snowy Owl is Quebec’s provincial bird.
The Tote
This limited edition tote is 100% made in Canada with sustainable, OEKO-TEK certified, heavyweight cotton canvas. Snowy Owl is printed directly on the fabric using a reactive printing process which results in a bright, permanent image that can be washed over and over without fading. The back of each tote is hand screen printed with permanent, water-based ink, making each piece one of a kind.
In addition, our bags are lined with a layer of 100% cotton muslin which provides additional structure and durability, and the built-in double pocket keeps phones, keys and other essential items at your fingertips.
